Junior Section

The Junior Section will meet on Friday evenings from 5.30 pm to 7.45 pm, but also plays County league matches (see below) on occasional weekends.  We welcome any young person from age 8 upwards who likes the challenge of learning and playing a new game. The present members of the Section are keen and competitive and participate in County individual and team competitions, the latter category including the Kent Invicta Junior League in which most of the County's indoor clubs are represented. Within the Club, there are three Junior competitions each year for which trophies are awarded.

Above all, though, the aim of the coaches and helpers is to foster a spirit of friendship and enjoyment and to develop the young peoples' skills so that, if they wish, they can aim for the heights! To those who say that bowls is a game only for the older generation many, if not most, national and international competitions feature in their final stages players in their 20's and 30's who began playing as youngsters, and several such players represent their countries in senior international teams.

Do come along to the Club on a Friday, see what we get up to and learn the basic skills which, when developed, may one day lead to a place in a team representing the nation or a victory in a national or international competition.
